Here is a good alternative to the adventurous foreigner, who doesn't just like to fly everywhere. I bet a three day train trip at 4km altitude would be nice experience. Specially when you can take one of these trains from right here in Chengdu. Read more at the link. A total of 169 China-made express trains are ready to run along the Qinghai-Tibet railway, the world's highest railtrack due to begin trial operation on July 1.
