Recently opened Jinsha Museum holds some magnificent artifacts from the lost Shu civilization that resided in the Sichuan basin some 3000 years ago.
The most famous artifact is the Sun Bird, made of gold and only couple millimeters thin, real show of ancient handcraft skills. Chengdu adopted this as the official symbol of the city a few years back, the symbol along with the panda can be seen all over the city.

The original excavations now housed in a modern protective environment, similar as the hall of Terracotta warriors in Xi’An.
